Summer Update: Across the Pond

Many members of the Delta Kappa chapter studied abroad this summer, including Haleigh Garcia, Julia McGowen, Catherine Simoneaux, and Gabrielle Becnel.  A few of the ladies even attended the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

KAT-Fish for CASA

 A few weeks ago the Delta Kappa chapter held  its annual “KATfish for CASA”event at the Theta house on sorority row. Family and friends came to the Theta house to enjoy some catfish and live music. Thanks so much to all the parents who helped out and a special thanks to Chief Marketing Officer Katie Tipton and Service and Philanthropy Director Sammy Latham!

This year, the Delta Kappa chapter raised $15,000 for CASA, Kappa Alpha Theta's national philanthropy, through events like KAT-fish for CASA and social media contests in our local community.

Greek Week

LSU Greek Board of Directors held its annual Greek Week where members of the Greek community at LSU came together to build houses for Habitat for Humanity. The ladies of the Delta Kappa chapter helped out all week to build homes for families in Baton Rouge. One of our very own, Michelle Dubret, helped organize and run Greek Week.

Twin Star Formal

On St. Patrick's Day, the Delta Kappa chapter held its formal at Parc 73 in Prairieville, Louisiana.

Dressed in beautiful white dresses, the new members were accompanied by their parents and presented as official members of Kappa Alpha Theta. After a lovely dinner, the ladies of the DK chapter danced the night away with their dates to music played by The Cold Hard Truth.

Countdown to KAT-Fish

It's that time of year again! The Delta Kappa chapter is excited to hold our annual KAT-Fish for CASA event benefiting Baton Rouge Court Appointed Special Advocates. Come join us at the Kappa Alpha Theta House for some fried cat fish and fun! Hope to see you there!

Spring Exchanges

The Delta Kappa chapter recently had two exchanges. Our first exchange of the spring was with the men of AGR and Sammy. The theme was "Pajama Jama" as the ladies and gents dressed in their best bed time themed attire. Our second exchange was with Phi Si and the theme was "March Madness."

The DK chapter had a blast at both and we are looking forward to more spring social events in the next month, including Formal.

King Cake Carnival

This past week, the Delta Kappa chapter held its annual KAΘ King Cake Carnival for CASA. Sorority ladies from down the row joined us at the Theta house for king cake, music and fun. 

  The night was definitely a big success. Thanks to Chief Panhellenic Officer Claire Salzer for all of her hard work!!!
